Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 4 buns
- Additional toppings (optional), such as coleslaw, pickles, or cheese
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Brush the chicken with the barbecue sauce mixture during the last minute of grilling.
Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips.
Toast the buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
Assemble the sandwiches by placing a few chicken strips on the bottom half of the bun, add any desired toppings, and top it with the other half of the bun.
Serve and enjoy!
Note:
- You can also cook this in the oven, preheat oven to 375F, place chicken on baking sheet, and cook for 20-25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165F.
- You can also cook this in slow cooker, Place chicken in slow cooker, pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
